We had a very exciting start to our history unit The Great Fire of London. We were alerted to a fire that was happening on our playground. We rushed outside to see what was happening and saw the (pretend) fire. We discussed that there was a great fire that happened in London a long time ago. Miss Slater told us that there were no fire engines at the time, so what do you think they did? We came up with the idea of using water from the River Thames to extinguish the fire. We had lots of fun putting out the fire using buckets and water. When we went back to class we became history detectives and looked at sources to work out how the fire might have started.
