w/c 04.11.24

In English, we have been learning some new vocabulary from our text. The children were thinking about whether they had heard the words before and how many syllables they had. They had to find the definitions, some synonyms and then try to put it into a sentence. They also came up with actions to help them remember the meaning of the word. 

In History, we started learning about the crime and the punishment of John and Albert who stole from Turf Moor! They were trying to work out the punishment from a real photograph using question prompts. It was the Penal Treadmill in case you were wondering!

In Science, we went out for a local walk as rock detectives. We prepared a general adjectives bank before our walk to help us describe rocks we saw. We also added to this on our walk. We did some sketches and some rubbing too!
