We had a special visitor in class who brought us lots of toys that were replicas of toys she used to play with in the past.  Mrs North explained how she had toys mainly made by her father from wood, leather, metal and fabric.  They didn't have batteries or used electricity.  We asked her some of the many questions we had thought of before she came and found out that her favourite toy was a pair of stilts.  She played mainly outside with her toys whereas our class tended to play inside.  We had lots of fun trying out some of the toys.
